
He walked toward her slowly, deliberately, every eye in the village following his progress. The crowd parted before him like water before a ship's prow. When he reached Veda, he did something that drew gasps from the entire assembly—he lowered himself to his knees before her. The gesture was so unexpected, so profound in its humility, that even Veda looked up, her tear-streaked face a portrait of shock. Her hand flew to cover her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"I am very ashamed for what my son did," Rajveer said, his voice loud enough for all to hear yet carrying the weight of genuine remorse. "I am sorry for the pain he caused you. I am sorry that you had to endure such cruelty." He paused, his eyes holding hers with unwavering sincerity. "Kya aap humse byaah karengi Veda?" Her heart was pounding fast . He continued "I promise I will keep you safe, protect you with my life, and fulfill every wish of yours. I will cherish you, honor you, and stand by you until my last breath."
